That's from MGS: Integral. That 140.07 codec frequency has behind the scenes info from the MGS staff about the game's production. I translated a few of these and posted them in the metalgear.net forums. I'd give you the link but my computer doesn't load that site anymore for some reason. Maybe someone else could dig it up, or maybe someone somewhere has translated them all verbatim, I don't know.

Since the PC version is a form of Integral would the frequency work on that? (I don't feel like digging out my discs at the moment :-P)

No, it doesn't work on PC.
You get something like this http://www.metalgearsolid.pl/readarticl ... cle_id=353
And this number works only after Ocelot fight and when Snake is in prison cell.

-This was the first video game, according to them, that featured movie-style opening credits. The developers would go into corner view mode when their individual name came up to make the screen look cool.

-Originally there was no cargo dock, the game just started at the heliport. That's why everything about the system is explained there. The cargo dock was added to get the player to understand the stealth concept. It's the most tense area of the game, as you have no weapons.

-There was a moving forklift around the searchlights on the heliport, but that ended up becoming the one in the cargo dock.

-Johnny isn't going to the bathroom when you see him from the vent, he's just slacking off. Meryl's cell is the only one without maggots, and has the most toilet paper, since he's "taking care of her."

-Ocelot originally fought with several guns, but they said he looked stupid, so they reduced it to one gun.

-In the tank fight, Raven has a hidden pose if you dodge the first 6 tank shells but let the 7th hit you.

-When you fight the tank on Extreme, they say that's what it would be like to fight one in real life.

-Originally, you walked over the electrified floor without destroying the panel. If your life wasn't full when you started, you'd die. If you crawled, Snake would get "excited". Later they decided to have you destroy the panel, but it was much harder, and you had to fly over to the left wall or you wouldn't make it. They changed it to make it easier.

-The Ninja originally had a move where a beam came out of his eye, and 2 copies of himself appeared, similar to the copy of The Pain in MGS3. They dropped it.

-When he goes nuts at the end of the fight, he's saying adenine, thymine, guanine, and cytosine, the components of DNA. It underscores the genetic theme.

-Otacon had a hidden room where he stored items that you could enter. It was modeled and everything, but left out.

-Otacon is the only character in the game whose appearance never changes.

-Meryl's booty walk file is called cat_walk.

-The wolf cave was originally more complex, like a maze.

-In the snowfield Wolf fight, originally you could only kill her with the PSG1. When you use the Nikita, her death animation is different. She also wears a camel pack, which you can't really see if you only use the PSG1.

-Try calling Mei Ling and leaving it on the Save or Do not save screen for a really long time.

-I never knew you could destroy the crane in the Blast Furnace.

-Raven originally died with his hands clasped together like a prayer.

How accurate are those translations? The point about The Pain must have been added by whoever typed it up.

So that's it, huh? It never made much sense for him to be taking a shit with his pants on.
-In the tank fight, Raven has a hidden pose if you dodge the first 6 tank shells but let the 7th hit you.
I traded my copy of MGS1 in a while ago, so can you desribe to me what it is that Raven does?
-Try calling Mei Ling and leaving it on the Save or Do not save screen for a really long time.
Again, what does Mei Ling do?

I typed them up. I remember adding that part to give people a better idea because the 2 moves are identical (the copy, not the beam thing). It isn't written in the line in the game, but the translations are all accurate.

As for what Raven does, it's hard to describe, but it's just some...pose. Heh. Sorry. Just try it for yourself and see. I tried to see the Mei LIng one, but I gave up after a few minutes.

I think she will put out her tongue at Snake.

That's when you call her too many times without saving.

I tried it the other day, and Mei Ling swings her hair a little bit.
