MGS3: Subsistence LE Scans

The scans of the Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence Limited Edition scans are up now, the regular edition is exactly the same minus the Red box and the Existence DVD. Unfortunately the manual does not have all the detail it should (the japanese one was 130+ pages), most probably due to not wanting to rise the price of the product. This detail might make it difficult for some to deal with the MSX games, so I am linking the Metal Gear Redux page, which contains a translation of Metal Gear's manual and Takamichi's translation of the Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake Manual for reference.

I couldn't believe when I first heard the manual was only 16 B&W pages. But then it made sense, with Saga and the LE. But still... At least add some more info, even if it's B&W.

It's really not as bad as it sounds. The font is really small, so all of the vital information's still there, but it really doesn't explain online mode as much as it should.

I'm hoping for a better effort from KCEE.

What about the MSX games?

I can't remember if they have anything other than information explaining why the games are there in the manual, but you can view instructions for both MSX games before you start playing.

You mean the explanation of the controls?

Wow, the manual for MG2 sure was packed to the brim with info! That must be the largest game manual ever.
They should give us the same amount of information in the manuals as they do in Japan...how do they hold their game prices low if such a small thing as a manual can make it rise?

One thing is that in Japan, a B&W manual just wouldn't fly. The Japanese have come to expect certain production values in the packaging (for a start), and colour manuals is one of them. Games are a little more expensive in Japan compared to elsewhere, yes, but Japanese would rather pay more for something if it means better quality.

Yeah.

I was looking through the manual last night and found a disclaimer saying that the real manual is available for download from the Konami website and what was included with the actual game is just a Quick Start manual. It made me giggle.

You should see the PAL MGS2:SOL! We only got a short Manga with the actual instructions appearing on the free DVD!

I have no idea what they did when they stopped including the Limited Edition DVD.

But the good thing about that PAL manual was that it didn't spoil the true nature of the game (2 chapters and Raiden).
