Talk about Kojima's hard sci-fi masterpiece.

With the Wii's controller, Policenauts may be feasible....

Post by Missing »

I was just giving it some thought today, and I was thinking how a game like Policenauts would be best suited for Wii because of the fully interactive controller. It would add a whole new dimension to the point-n-click gameplay. Imagine using the Wii's controller during the bomb diffusion section or any of the gun shooting stages. Even basic point-n-click stuff would be enhanced by having to aim at specific parts of the screen to investigate. It would be much more exciting than just scrolling the pointer over items with the D-pad. Here's hoping Kojima sees this as a golden oppurtunity to release the game worldwide.

That's what I was thinking too.

Personally, I hope the Wii jump-starts the point and click adventure genre. I'd like to see some kind of Myst remake come out on it, and maybe something similar to Maniac Mansion and those old LucasArts SCUMM engine titles.

that would be awsome. A new broken sword perhaps, and Beneath a steel sky 2....or Dreamfall 2. How did that end piss me off, Ive been waiting since 1999 (when the longest journey came out) for dreamfall to come out, just to find out that, thats half a game.

Indeed, a point, click and shoot adventure game along the lines of Policenauts or Snatcher would be perfect for the Wii.

Since you'd be using the wiimote for both the point-and-click segments and the shooting scenes (Konami could come up with a gun attachment for the wiimote to make the shooting sequences easier) you wouldn't have to swap between pad and mouse or light-gun.

Yeah I saw that. Looks kinda like the Zapper, actually. :P (So Konami's already got that part taken care of, they just need to finish Elebits and get to work! :D)

Not that I know of, unfortunately. (And even if they did they'd still have to translate it into English, anyway.)

Yeah, but at least the best version currently available has a chance of appearing on it.
