It's clear to me that Deckard from Blade Runner inspired Gillian. But who do you suppose inspired Jonathan?

Jonathan was inspired by Sgt Martin Riggs from "Lethal Weapon". Ed Brown is inspired by Sgt Roger Murtaugh from the same movie.

That's odd. Any pic related even?

Well, no matter, I don't blame you.

What?? Blasphemy! More than any of your previous deeds, this warrants a banning!

I had a dream about a Lethal Weapon prequel last night.

Mel Gibson had a mullet. A feathered mullet.

What caused this dream, I'll never know.

I read the rules. And they didn't say that you will be banned if you haven't seen Lethal Weapon.

Now that should be a violation of the rules!

Just don't watch it in a smal tv or one with incorrect black balance, since you'll loose a lot of detail. Watch it at a movie theatre if possible (yes I know, but it is worth it)

The only place you'd find showing BR these days would have to be an artsy theater.

Where I live people have bigger TVs than the theater. My parents bought a 40 inch HD TV and I get paid tomorrow. I'll see it soon enough.

Believe me, I watch it usually at home in a 38" HD CRT set at 480p anamorphic and deinterlaced with a decent Farudja chip, and it is nothing compared to a theatre.

I'd have to travel quite a long way before I found anywhere that was showing it, though.

A friend of mine has a 52 inch widescreen TV that outputs at some ridiculous resolution and takes up half of his room (he lives with his parents... probably could've moved out for as much as he spent on the TV).

I got a 55 inch 1080i...and its beautiful.

And Snatcher, is there any place written of where Harry's character came from?

Not that I know of Modnar...

Off topic, what material do you have in 1080i? My set is native 1080i also, but only the *sigh* Xbox 360 has material at that resolution (though most is 720p and some poor xbox games, and upscaled dvds from 480).

I think Harry's character is based on someone, but I don't remember who.

Victor is based on Masahiko Ueno, a former medical examiner in Tokyo (but also a little on Harry, too).

I barely have anything that goes to 1080i...theres always enter the matrix and dragons lair 3d, they go 1080i, i dont know why..but they do.

hmmm....havent really found much that goes that high, I mostly use it as a monitor and for HD tv.

Since this topic was created, I was recently wondering if Kojima ever commented for why he decided to give Jonathan blue hair and Tony purple hair. I'm assuming -- since I can't understand Japanese -- that their hair colors don't play into the storyline in any way, so it would seem the only reason this was done is because it's somewhat of an anime tradition to give characters unusual hair color. Nonetheless, for a game like Policenauts, which spends so much effort on attention to detail and creating a realistic atmosphere, it just seems strange to give a few of the characters odd hair coloring, while others look perfectly normal. Why would Kojima willingly add something so out-of-place in his world as a main character with blue hair that just makes the whole thing seem ridiculous on face-value?
