English Policenauts Voices???

Has anyone on these forum boards heard the English voices for Policenauts? If so, where would one obtain these files for his own satisfaction of curiousity?

And please, if I'm pulling a "ratperson", I apologise for my stupidity and obliviousness in advance.

There are none man, there never was a recording session. Or at least, it never went public.

Actually, wait a minute... Isn't the voice of Peter Stillman in Sons of Liberty the english voice of Ed Brown? I know that's who Stillman was based off, and I heard that voice-over fact from somebody off the site (or read, rather )

Or am I getting my facts confused? :(

Kojima was originally going to have Stillman be Brown, until he decided he was going to die in the game. The Japanese VA who plays Brown also plays Stillman.

I think Eagles would make a pretty good English Brown.

Aren't the Japanese VA for Rose and Karen the same, too?

Yes. She also played The Boss (and did a really good job of changing her cutesy voice, I think).

As for other Policenauts common VAs (with Metal Gear):

Hideyuki Tanaka plays Jonathan and Otacon.

Kaneto Shiozawa plays Redwood and the Ninja.

Masaharu Sato plays Salvatore and the DARPA Chief.

Osamu Saka plays Gatse, Gurlukovich and The End.

Naoki Tatsuta plays Ishida and Sokolov.

Naoko Nakamura plays the BCCH receptionist, Sniper Wolf and the computer voice (MGS1).

I don't think Christopher Randolph would be a good choice for an English-speaking Jonathan, but I think Greg Eagles would make an excellent Tony Redwood.

I think that the guy who did Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop'd make an excellent Jonathan.

He'd do just about every cool anime protagonist quite well, though.

Yeah, the instant I saw Jonathan Ingram I thought "The guy who played Spike would do him justice." He's a good anime voice-over guy, no doubt.

The best voice-over guy EVER in my opinion is Billy West. He's done all the Futurama characters we love and other roles that haven't really gotten him much credit. (The Red M&M and Stimpy from "Ren & Stimpy")

Regarding Policenauts dubbed in english, unless they started work on it on the incomplete US Saturn version, there probably isn't one.

I'm fairly sure I read somewhere that they started an English translation, got 80 percent of the way through completion and then Kojima decided to boycott the whole thing.

We have no way of knowing whether that "X% complete rumor" is true or not. Some rumors we do know aren't true, though, like the one that Jeremy Blaustein offered to translate it for free (that's like asking someone you know to forfeit their salary for 2 months).

Why didn't they take Blaustein's offer? Just seems stupid. Kojima would've had a bigger fanbase, and it would've cost him El Zilcho.

Oh! It's UNtrue. I see.

Let's not even worry about a translation. One of these days, someone is surely going to make the effort, even if we're in our ninties by that time.

Yeah, sure, just blow off years of hard work those guys've done in hopes that some other schmoes will do it in the far future.

No.
