Right, so I've bought a second-hand copy of Substance - very hard to find. And it was only thirty bucks.
Thing is, everything on the disc works EXCEPT the one thing I bought it for - the VR missions. I have the original Sons of Liberty and really wanted the VR missions and Snake Tales (which works, I might ad).
It's not just my copy that's done this - my friend Ezra has a copy that he bought new, and it used to work perfectly on my PS2, until one day last year he put the disc into mine and the VR missions wouldn't start, just a blank screen. After cleaning the disc and dusting the disc tray several times, I'm starting to get really pissed off.
Any ideas?
Signed -
A very, very angry Jesse.

I never had such problem.. but I'd say that the thing to try would be the usual in any technical problem. First reduce the differences as much as possible. What ps2 model do you have? which one is your friend's? Then, check the options on your friend's ps2 and set yours in the same way. And finally, remove your memory cards and try to boot that way.
I really don't believe these might help much, but it is as much as can be done...

From the mathematical perspective, consciousness might be regarded as a second derivative of sensation.

Hey guys.
In answer to your questions:
Artemio: My PS2 was a Christmas present from Christmas '02, and Ezra's model is exactly the same. None of us own slimlines (they suck, anyway). Asking Ezra to check the settings on his PS2 would be too much of a hassle, as his PS2's been almost forgotten as he made the impulse decision to buy the Xbox 3-shitty.
Osiris: The disk was a bit scratched, but not enough to make any difference. However some 8-year old tool who knows nothing about how to care for your games got a permanent marker and wrote his name on the disc. It's not on the middle ring, just next to the title of the game on the disc, but still, it might've done something.

I'll be sure to give it a shot. Thanks for the tip.Snake700 wrote:Try Skipdoctor, it cleans discs and make them as good as new.
