Sony and Immersion kiss and make up

Seemed like a trolling lawsuit anyway. But the point is -- does this leave KP enough time to implement rumble in MGS4? Hopefully so.

The thing is.. will they implement it on the six axis? It will be hard to tell the market to buy another controller, but we know it is not a first.. and that it has worked for them in the past...

Yeah, it's exactly the same situation as with MGS1 and the Dual Shock. This'll be interesting.

All I can say is; finally, Sony are starting to take notice of their mistakes! Good news, perhaps Sony will be less cocky now (meaning they won't fuck around with us anymore like not giving us BC in Europe :???: ).

Not a chance. When has it ever been corporate policy at Sony to admit any wrongdoing? Take a look at, say, the laptop battery incident or the rootkit fiasco. I remember a Sony executive making statements along the lines of "ordinary people don't know what a rootkit is, so why should we care to remove it?".

Regardless, wouldn't it be possible for them to supply a patch later on that enables rumble? I don't know what the PS3 online service works like, but I would suppose it makes it possible for content providers to supply updates.

(personally, I detest my controller shaking, but that's just me :))

the laptop battery incident or the rootkit fiasco
What was that about?
Sony manufactured a series of laptop batteries which were used in its on laptops as well as laptops made by other companies. Later, major flaws were found in the design of these that would result in them possibly overheating and catching fire. 4.1 million batteries had to be recalled (I had to send mine in for a replacement).

As for the rootkit fiasco, certain Sony music CDs would install a rootkit (a rootkit is, essentially, a set of tools that will allow an intruder to conceal his or her presence in a system). This rootkit was poorly written and would install drivers that could make the OS unstable and crash prone. It would also hide certain files, directories and registry keys to conceal itself from the user. As soon as the rootkit was brought into public view, people figured how to exploit this feature to hide other, possibly malicious, files on computers that already had the rootkit installed. There's more here if you're curious.

The controller doesn't have the hardware, so in short: no, it is not possible.

Not at the moment, no, but what says future hardware revisions can't have it? It's dubious, but possible.

Yes, if they do release a new controller, it is a must.
