Don't get ahead of yourself, Final Fantasy XIII is way bigger. Just look at the sales figures for previous MGS installments vs. FF-installments that were released around the same time and you'll know what I mean; MGS2 sold about 5.5 million copies worldwide whereas Final Fantasy X sold nearly 8 million. MGS3, despite being released a year earlier, has sold one million copies less than Final Fantasy XII (about 4 million for MGS3, 5 million for FFXII).Henry Spencer wrote:Well, MGS4 is like the biggest game for the PS3, no doubting that, it's the biggest PS3 exclusive title, by far.
Probably not, especially considering how MGS4 will most likely sell less than MGS3 (which in turn sold less than MGS2). One should remember that most people play games out of novelty, and I'm honestly not sure MGS4 offers too much of that. The MGS formula has been executed three times already and unless there's some significant addition this time, it'll inevitably attract a smaller audience than the previous iteration.Osiris wrote:Yeah, I know that, but it's still not as popular as those other two games. You think stores will open at midnight for MGS4 like they did for Halo 2? Will MGS4 score pre-orders in the millions like GTA does?
Yeah, there are more aspects to what sells a game (which would provide explanations as to why MGS3 sold less than MGS3 for instance), but I'm pretty apathic to the subject so I'll just leave it be.
