Moslem's Cigarettes

I wish they existed. Too many people bitch about second-hand smoke and the smell it leaves in a room.

Why shouldn't they? Because a smoking character looks quite cool in a particular videogame?

Why shouldn't they complain about second-hand smoke? Because I never did when I was a non-smoker. However, if Moslems existed in todays world nobody would have a reason to complain because second-hand smoke would no longer be a threat to their health.

Because the selfish actions of smokers damage the health of those around them? I don't see how smokers could ever pretend to have the moral high-ground.

Inhaling second-hand smoke is apparentally more damaging then smoking the actual cigarette. But who's more likely to get some kind of health issue? Me? Or someone who's a few feet away from me when I light up? Anyway, I can tell neither of you smoke, so of course your opinion is going to be different from mine.

If you don't care about non-smokers who have a problem with smoking, can you state so in a more blunt way? I don't care to lecture smokers, but if they try to act superior because of their habits, I find that both annoying and worrying.

I've tried weed on one occasion, when I was merely thirteen years of age. That's the closest I'll ever get to becoming a smoker. It's still the worst taste I've ever had the pleasure of getting to know.

EDIT: 53 guests, WTF?

I'm not trying act superior. Nor am I trying to bash non-smokers. I'm simply stating my perspective in, what I think, is a friendly manner. So if you're annoyed by this that's your problem.

One time I lit up a cigarette in an outdoor environment and some old lady I didn't even know asked me to not light it because someone she knew was struggling with lung cancer. And the way she said it was very ignorant. Now I feel for the person who's dealing with this issue but just because I'm smoking a g'damn cigarette doesn't constitute this hag to come up to me and put me on the spot about someone she know who is dieing of lung cancer. That's just rude as hell and completely uncalled for.

That's too young to start smoking anything, obviously. In any case though, weed is something you gotta get used to. At least it was for me anyway. The first time you blaze is always going to be weird. Because it's a different feeling.

But as far as the taste, I don't think it's all that bad.

This is a thread you started about cigarettes, not junk food. But both are disgusting. I would also ask you what the point of starting this thread was. People are right to bitch about secondary smoke in public places. While we're at it, I don't see the point of cigarettes anyway. I tried them for a while because I didn't feel I could criticize smokers unless I tried them myself, and they were disgusting. They do absolutely nothing for you, unlike a ton of other drugs. Smokers say, "They make me feel good." Well so does masturbation, sex, exercise... a whole list of other things that don't slowly ruin your health at the same time. Cigarettes only feel good to smokers because their brains have been rewired to depend on them.

Yeah, I know it is. Just saying that I've been put off trying smoking for life. Not that I'd try it again anyway. The only reason I tried it at such a young age was because I was pressured into doing so by a bunch of my "friends" from a long, long time ago, whom were in actuality nothing more than poppy pushing, hippie fucking freaks with no lives, whom I might mention were disguised as kids who listened to too much heavy metal. They'd allowed all of that head banging get to their cerebral cortex and fuck up their way of thinking, turning their brain to mush. Hence the reason why they pushed me to try the drugs, regardless of whether I wanted to or not. :???:

The weed was more than enough before I backed out.

I have no friends who smoke, and I'm rather thankful, don't want the second hand smoke, but I wouldn't exactly look down on any of my friends for smoking, I'd just advise them to stop, not tell them to. I'm no dictator or anything.

Smoking kills and that's all there is to it, if you ask me.

Kids like that give metal heads a bad name.
I've never tried smoking, and I've been told by people who know better than me to never get into it, so I take their advice. On the flip side, I really like the smell of smoke though... It reminds me of my dad.

How? It's a public place, and smoking is perfectly legal. Why are they right?

Okay. But you still don't know how good a cigarette tastes in the morning.

Good for them. They're keeping our environment clean. Unlike smokers though, according to Osiris. Nobody's heard of an ash tray, I guess.

Because it's not an isolated act; someone sitting there smoking still affects everyone else in the vicinity. Smokers should smoke away from people who don't. Would it be okay to drink in public if someone drinking made everyone around him a little drunk?
Space Cowboy wrote:So because you tried it you came to the conclusion that you could criticize smokers?
Yes.

Yeah, because a lot of them don't use one. Smoking is now illegal on many Japanese streets, specifically because of too many people littering cigarette butts.

So if someone can't smoke in a public space in the outside environment where the fuck can they smoke? In an enclosed room with the doors locked, the windows closed, and an air purifier blasting? You're not makin' much sense!

Well, I dunno about you but I live in America. Just because smokers throw their butts on the ground I don't see why it makes them any different from anyone else in the world who throw trash on the ground of all shapes and sizes.

Oh, I knew you were asking me. Trust me. I just didn't like how you wrote it.

And to finally answer your question.. the point of this topic was to get people to discuss the brand of cigarettes that David Ingram and Solid Snake smoke. Because they're futuristic and have no second-hand smoke. Little did I know it would turn into a heated debate about how bad smoking is for me and other people. Sure, I knew it would be included in this thread but little did I know it would turn out of be the center of attention. Anyway, for the record, I generally try to appeal to others when I light up. If someone has a problem with it, I move.. sometimes(heh). I don't smoke in non-smoking households or establishments either. Unless I'm given permission of course.

I'm not here to join in the argument, but the relaxed feeling from smoking only comes from the deep breaths associated with it. Just taking deep breaths will give the same calming effect that smoking does, because that's what causes the relaxing feeling.
Life and Death hang in perfect balance...I'm only here to tip the scales.

I like you Space Cowboy, so don't take this the wrong way.

Also, Osiris, I'm EXTREMELY happy to finally see a board where administrators don't immediately ban those whom uphold a debate, so I give you great props for actually taking part in intelligent debate rather than ending it with a hammer.

But, on the subject of alternatives, gum has popped up a few times, might I make a suggestion?

Image

New 5 gum from Wrigley's.

I especially like the "Cobalt" flavor, and the menthol gives a cooling sensation similar to some cigarettes, except now with great taste!

This gum has calmed my nerves and focused my concentration much more than any cigarette that I have tried to date. (Although nothing beats a good cigar on special occasion!)

True, gentlemen. Gum chewing would be in my best interests. I'd save money and my health. But for now.. I'm gonna stick with the smokes. Nothing goes better with a beer than a cigarette!
