He's actually in DC filming his next picture at the moment. I admit I entertained a fantasy where he turned up incognito to the theater to watch his own film. Maybe he did...? :D

Well, you'd be one lucky bugger to meet him. How would you react if you met him? I can imagine you'd be all over him! Especially since BR is your favourite film and all. HAHA.

Hovis advert? Haha! I'm sure he'd be happy to hear that. He'd probably tell his brother to talk with you whilst he does a runner, so you're just left with Tony. I bet you'd be like; 'awww, why does it have to be Tony, and not Ridley I get to talk to?'

Poor Tony Scott, he's like the bad seed or something.

I just watched The Screaming Tiger last night. A fairly racist Kung-Fu movie, and really boring too. There some fun to be had watching the slightly bizarre fight on a train (I understood the film to be set a few hundred years ago up to this point), and fight against 6 sumo wrestlers, but it was generally pretty boring.

I was only watching it, as it was part of a budget boxset of poor Kung-Fu films from the 70's, "Black Samurai" and "Bruce Lee Fights Back From The Grave" are my favourites so far. I've only got a couple of Bruceploitation films left.

Awww, you bugger. :P

How'd you get those tickets?

I'm very jealous of you, hope you enjoy yourself and if you meet any cast members or crew members personally, then let us know what they were like. I betcha Rutger Hauer is such a nice guy, my friend has met him (whilst in New York)! Said he was a very easy going gentleman. Very laid back. Hope you enjoy yourself anyway!

Ah, I didn't know about that! I doubt I'll be able to go. But since you're going, be sure and give us all the details! I hope Harrison and Ridley don't break out into a fist fight or nuthin'... ;)

You can just buy them online, right?

Yes, you can simply buy them online at the events site. There were still tickets available if some of you want to go. It will be easier for you guys, I have to go from Mexico =P It would also be great to meet there.

I'll make sure to post all the details, I just bought my plane tickets today so everything is ready. I'll take pictures of the party after the movie if I can (I somewhat doubt it will be possible).

I honestly don't know what I'd do if you stopped letting me know what films you were watching on a particular day, ratperson665. It's one of the few things left that I really look forward to.

Die Hard 4.0: Live Free or Die Hard

Eh, this was nothing special. It was good in parts but overall it just didn't feel like a Die Hard film, some of the scenes were ridiculously over the top. Justin Long annoyed me, and the film itself paled in comparison to its predecessors. To me, the original remains the best, closely followed by Die Hard with a Vengeance.

In short, it needed McTiernan.

Innocence (BR)
2001 (HD-DVD)

Both excellent transfers in audio and video, and incredible movies above all. I've watched both for at least 15 times.

My thoughts, exactly (although McTiernan did produce Die Hard 4). I'm glad I bought a trilogy boxset before they all became quadrilogy boxsets.

Lethal Weapon

Oh man, I just finished watching this and I'm left wondering where the christ it's been all my life. It had just the right mix of action, violence and humour. Riggs and Murtaugh are perfect together, it's a great contrast that works well. Also, Gary Busey is fucking awesome.

The sequel is even better, I reckon! Much darker, violent and better storyline structure to it all. LW1 is still good though.

Yaaaaaay! Join the cult!! Everyone around me is so sick of hearing me praise that movie so much, that I've been labeled as a Mel Gibson hardcore. Minus points for just finishing downloading Bird On A Wire, I guess, haha~

Last movie I watched was on my PSP on the bus, Steam Boy... What a visual feast, it's one of those movies that I was possessed to watch certain bits of animation over and over again, watching how the different dubs were creative in matching the very fluid mouth movements... I'm not sure what to think of the movie overall, it's a little obvious that alot of companies had their fingers dipped into it. It's a strange kind of Japanese filter on late 1800's steam invention and old American mechanics... There's lots of interesting characters, though some are a little predictable, of course designed awesomely by Otomo, topped with his awesome direction. Unfortunately, watching movies kills your batteries (anything does, really lol *cry*), and I forgot my charger back home. Shit.

You're all too slow!
Just finished Bird On A Wire... Some nice dialogue before the token sex-implying scene, other than that, the whole 'comedic couple' gag... It was fun, I heh'd, there were Goldie Hawn's nice legs, Mel was silly, the good guys won, blah blah blah... Another animal of its time, though I'd say it's one of the better ones of its comedy action romance genre...

One reason I love Lethal Weapon is because it was an 80's movie that depicted MMA before it was popular in the U.S. Here's a link to the final fight scene http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnSHQHXvaTU
Looking back on it now, the fight scene holds up well 20 years later. Gary Busey does a Judo throw. They both fight using strikes and weapons. And Mel Gibson crossfaces Gary Busey on the ground and does a sloppy armbar and transitions into a nice triangle choke.

Yes! I love Ridley, in a gay way of course. I'll be heading to Liverpool, then. One for Manchester would have been nice, but ah well, guess I'll have to plan my route. Hehe. Can't wait to see the film as Ridley intended, finally.
Oh excellent, I forgot to see this post. Liverpool shouldn't be too far to travel for me, especially since I live in Cheshire. I'm definitely going to try and get down there if I can.

Of recent films, I've seen We Own the Night, American Gangster, and Michael Clayton, all excellent films, all well-worth seeing. I don't feel like explaining their appeal, but if anyone would wish to ask me, I'll tell you.

The Running Man

In my opinion, one of Arnie's underrated films. Usually when people think of Schwarzenegger, they think of Terminator and Predator, but to me, The Running Man has always held a special place in my heart. The stalkers never cease to entertain me, and I like how the film was ahead of its time in reference to reality television and just how far it can go. Some of Arnie's best one-liners are in here too, I think it's second only to Commando in that respect.

I started watching Lethal Weapon 4 last night, at 3 o'clock in the morning, for some forsaken reason.... Didn't get through it all, to about half-way, and I was so dissapointed lol.... It's tired, noone seems like they wanna really reprise these roles (ESPECIALLY Mr. Gibson, jeez)... As well, it was... kindof depressing. They underlined the whole "they're getting old, near death even" theme, and it was kindof sombre for a slew of characters that I have such a emotional connection to. The jokes were kindof unfunny too. And good God, stop it with the gay jokes! We can tell you're just emulating the '87 groove now, guys, and guess what-- it's not 1987, and this shit just doesn't work anymore, nor was it appropriate in the first place. As well, there were these somewhat offensive Chinese stereotypes being thrown around-- Oh yeah, and Rog is a continued fucking joke, he's completely lost his grace from the first movie--
Graaaaaaah, this is why I hardly watch movies!!

......

Up points? Chris Rock is still funny, even if the script is so-so.
