Patch is up (v1.01 incoming)

Talk about Kojima's hard sci-fi masterpiece.

Wow, I didn't realize it had been a full 7 weeks since the last update from Osiris! I'm proud to say I made it this far without making another "Got a new update for us?" post.

Admittedly, in between my work schedule, I've been working on any "leftover games" I've been meaning to play through before the patch's arrival. For anyone that's interested, these are the games I've done: Psychonauts (Rank 100), Ape Escape (100%), and EarthBound Zero. (I'm going to start Killer7 over and actually get through it all at some other point. Some other point in 2008.)

So, here's my harassment post, which I solemnly apologize for but obnoxiously can't hold back: "Any news from the Policenauts Translation Team, Osiris? I'm dying for an update!"

[Obligatory mention of how appreciative I am of the entire Team's amazing efforts.]

I can't.
I really can't.
That is, assuming Osiris prefers taking the virginity of young men over eating cookies.

Maybe if he were a chick, I could offer chocolate cookies....

Hahaha, interesting ways to get his attention. I'm sure Osiris doesn't want to divulge too much at this point - For all we know, the programmer could still be stuck on that last hurtle. For all we know, they could be beta testing right now.

Whatever the case may be, I hope Osiris fills us in - We just want to know what's been happening over there the last 7 weeks.

EDIT: 100th post!

HAAAAHAHA

Actually, seriously thinking, I thought about that point... Waking up one morning to find a happy email in my in-box. Then I really woke up. And said a silent prayer for Osiris' patience, ahaha, ha.

Hahaha, awesome post there. I love quote humor.

Well, Osiris has always been careful about updates for development reasons. As dedicated as Osiris and his team are, life has interrupted the progress many times. So, I expect Osiris to give us an update when he and his team are ready for one. Like I said, they could announce that it's ready, and they could confirm that the hurdle's still in the programmer's way. Either way, I'm dying for some news.

I'm gonna try to be psychic and see this coming;
They've not gotten much anywhere since the last update, and now they're getting just slightly nervous because of their Q4 2007 semi-semi-promise. Am I right?

If we had any updates we'd gladly share them with all of you. We're still working on the same problem as before. If we don't make it for 2007, then it'll just be done when it's done.

Are you guys planning on releasing the script by itself, in case some people have trouble getting the patch to work? I had enough trouble getting it to run by itself, and when the patch comes out, I'd still like to know what happens, even if I can't play it. Sorry if this has been asked/answered before, but I don't remember it being brought up.

Thanks!

^I'm sure they'll figure out something. There's alot of brains behind forcing the square peg through the circle hole, if you know what I mean.

So.... *rubs hands together* How about that ptttp?

the script would be just as useful as the dumps I have in Junker.

Thanks for the update, Osiris. We don't mean to be pushy, but, after 7 weeks, we were starting to wonder.

Don't worry, I'm sure most, if not all, of us won't mind if the patch's delayed until 2008. As long as it's not canceled, we're all more than willing to wait, and, as always, we're appreciative of what you and your team have been doing.

Indeed it is. :)

This site celebrates all of Kojima's projects, not just Metal Gear. ;)
We needed more members to discuss things around here anyhow. I'm Volgin The Sadist from TUS, btw (just if you didn't know already).

If you would like to play Snatcher, I'd say that the three definitive versions are: Sega CD version (the only English language version of the game made by Konami, PC Engine version (Kojima's last version) and the MSX version (English translated game by the fans). The actual full game is Sega CD and PC Engine, but the MSX version didn't actually get finished, due to lack of space on the system's hardware, so it got a much darker ending than the full versions.

Sega CD is the best version for English-speakers. The censoring is less-than-negligible and the voices are hilariously awesome. I recommend it over all other versions.

Once you play Snatcher, you'll see why we're all here.
