Patch is up (v1.01 incoming)
No, I wasn't speaking ill of it. I love the shooting range. I could spend hours there. There's a TON of secrets and hidden dialogue too.shidoni wrote:Mode 2, Level 2 isn't wasting your time though.Osiris wrote:Then if you waste time at the shooting range...
Haha, I just realized what you're referring to...

hmm... that's cool. Snatcher took about 8-10 hours on the first play through so it makes policenauts much longer game. I just can't wait it... i have watched the intro video and tried to play the game in the first room many times and i "accidentaly" once passed it and the cutscene beginOsiris wrote:If you read all the text and click on everything (which is really the best way to experience it), you're looking at 20+ hours. damn, this must be the most longer thread in junkerHQ boards...?

Yeah, it's a good deal longer than Snatcher.Solidé wrote:hmm... that's cool. It took me about 16 hours at my first playthrough and naturally, because it's japanese, I skipped all the text.
Imagine it this way, a quick run through Snatcher takes about 2 - 3 hours, but if you play it thoroughly it'll take around 12 - 13 hours.
By now I know what I have to do in Policenauts and a quick run takes about 10 - 12 hours for me. That's basically the equivalent of the 2 - 3 hours you'll need for Snatcher if you just click your way through the game as fast as you can. Now if you add up the 10 hours you'll need more if you play Snatcher the right way and keep in mind that Policenauts has a lot more text...
Yeah, it's pretty long.

Length isn't an issue for me, as long as it's well executed, it will be great; up to where I played it a year back, it was amazing, so this is one game well worth the wait.

It's Akira Yamashita, a Japanese video game critic and friend of Kojima. He's one of the interviewees on the Pilot Disk too.seraphssavior wrote:Speaking of the shooting range, who's the last unlockable target? Yeah, 8 hours isn't so long time to play through a game but considering the gameplay genre which Snatcher is, it kinda makes it much longer than example a FPS game that could take 8 hours to play through. This is because Snatcher is very cinematic game, lots of dialogue and cutscenes, but also the gameplay itself is somewhat like watching a movie... so Snatcher could be compared to movie which is 8 hours longThe Prince II wrote:Oh, that's good news. Snatcher only took me 8 hours, but I really loved the style of the gameplay and would have liked a bit more of it.

If i have understood correctly Policenauts is even more cinematic in many ways... the gameplay and lot's of more long cutscenes... tagline "interactive cinema" is propably good way to represent what kind of game Policenauts is going to be.

Jeremy Blaustein on the PTT Podcast (Snatcher and MGS1 translator/voice acting assistant director/supervisor) certainly made it well known how complicated and long Policenauts' script was! He said it was "something like 4 hours of video content, and that it was very wordy". From what I've played it's totally crammed full of detail too (like Snatcher), so there's plenty to see and do.

Yeah, that sounds cool... and if i remember correctly someone (could it have been Osiris?) said that the script of Policenauts is almost or even longer than script of MGS2. And i know that MGS2s script was huge! Actually it must be one of biggest game scripts ever made...

Thanks man, it took like over hour to make it.@ Solidé: Smooth sig, man~!

Yeah, I have to say, that's one of the best sig pics I've seen in a while! Awesome job!
As far as Policenauts' length goes, I'd be thrilled if the game no matter how long it was, as long as it's quality over quantity. (I loved Headhunter for the PS2, and appreciated its history on the Dreamcast. However, the game is only 4 hours long.)

Sure, mainstream games are fun, but you haven't tried Snatcher yet.

If every retarded thing people on the Internet do bothered me, I'd have slit my wrists years ago. Just one of those ubiquitous facts of life you have to live with. And it's not that the Internet attracts stupid people, it's that it puts you in direct connection with everyone, morons included.shidoni wrote:That sucks donkey balls.
