Compared to Skyrender's super-literal translation? Nah, his wasn't bad at all. Hell, except for a few things here and there, most of it wasn't changed. Sure the fan-hack had some missing elements (sans the awesome self-help book crack), but he was such a terrible writer in English (his native language) that it really didn't matter much.

The GBA re-translation is still (for the 3rd time!) the same story, only with more room for the flow of dialogue, feeling, etc. that had to be trimmed for space.

The GBA FFVI translation creates its own problems and saps some of the previous story and charm, though. It's pick your poison. Locke/Celes dynamic seems much more interesting and is less explicit in the original, for instance

I mean hell, we've been waiting for so long, does it really make a difference waiting some more?

some of you guys forget that Artemio, Marc and anybody else involved in the project are "probably" busy with a small little thing called real life. I don't think that Translating Policenauts is the first thing that pop up in their mind when they wake up in the morning, and why the hell would that be?

just give the guys a break for fuck's sake
It's also pretty awesome to be able to look forward to something that's so cool like this. I've also been waiting for this, and I have no problem waiting longer. In some ways, the waiting is kind of fun, because there's this whole community waiting for the same thing.

I recommend people just try to forget about it until it's done. That way you don't spend unnecessary time thinking about it, and it's a nice surprise in the end.

Do we really have to be so mean to the kid? He's excited, is all.

Also, I know you guys aren't ASKING for donations, but is there a group paypal that we can put some spare change in from time to time? I frequently have balances of $.76 in my paypal from ebay sales that I have nothing to do with, so I like to donate it to things I support. Even just to help cover the bandwith? As I know from my site, TheFAMAS.org it can cost a little bit.

No need to be modest, c'mon, lemme drop ya a couple quarters once in a while.

Please?

I don't think they're avoiding donations just for modesty's sake. I'm sure the team wants to keep this translation as legal as possible. Konami may see it as the wrong people getting money for their work.

Well, now we've drifted over to the worst possible off-topic topic: Visual Anarchy.

Yeah I'm not sure what that (slightly disturbing) picture right above has to do with the project status.

Whoops, sorry! I didn't notice the subtext. I guess I was too busy rinsing out my eyes.

Hello, I'm new to the boards and just wanted to say hey.
I finished Snatcher not to long ago and am greatly anticipating playing Policenauts next.
Just figured I'd introduce myself to the board.

Welcome to the forums. On this thread we like to talk about things that have nothing to do with project status. The previous sentence is an example.

I've noticed. I have been watching the forums for awhile now, but have just been too lazy to make an account.

Jefferson is probably one of the best pictures I've ever seen.
