Which PC Engine emulator do you recommend in order to get this game to work?

I finally got to play this version of the game, and here are my thoughts on it:
Spoiler:
It turns out that the shooting scene in the air ducts that takes place in the Sega CD version, is in this version as well.

So if you don't count the 3 that were added in that version, there were a total of 10 in this version.

The final shot in this game is actually not a message saying "Produced and released by Konami", but rather a gray metallic Junker HQ logo.

One thing I love about the home console versions, is that they are are far more user-friendly compared to the original PC versions.

The only part in the game I really hated is the part where you have to call Napoleon. The procedure isn't like how it was written word for word in Chris Hoffman's walkthrough for the Sega CD version. I had little to no problems with every other part in the game
Oh, and sorry for offending anyone who prefers the Sega CD version, over all of the other versions, but this version of the game is now officially my all-time favorite version, but that's only because it was virtually everything Kojima envisioned from the beginning, to the middle, to the end. However, I do respect the Sega CD version as being the first version of the game I've ever played, and the one that got me into playing the other pre-1994 versions of the game (I could care less about the Playstation and Saturn versions).

It's my favourite version because it still has the song Eternal Promise. Once you've heard it, you wanna kill whoever's responsible for taking it out of the SCD version.

Well, maybe that's a little harsh. But you at least want to hurt him!

Yeah I use Ootake but how do you run disk games on it? I've tried and tried. I really want to play Dracuala X, and see what this version of Snatcher is like, just for kicks

You'll need the CD bios to get CD games to run.

It's called syscard3.pce

OK Charlie. Thanks, but theres still something I need. The ISO. I tried doperoms and I got two ISOs, a cue file, and dosens of music files. And the ISO files wouldn't work on diskjuggler. What now? Pleasem I need your help. The game I downloaded was Dracula X, btw.

That one is crap anyway, there's a better iso out in the depths of the internets. It's lurking somewhere, waiting for you to find it.

Or I could just send you the link via PM.

But I won't! That's illegal and I won't take part in such things.

Sure, it may look like as if I'm just searching for the link, but you couldn't be farther away from the truth, because I'm actually looking for something completly different!

And the PM I'm going to send you is about a completly different topic too!

OK, here's what I've done so far: I got the system card and the bios is all set. I got the game file you sent. There was an mdf file and mds file. I took mdf and changed it to an iso file. I burned it using record now. Got that. I went to run the disk and it says "Load Error" in the bios. What's my next option? Thanks for all your help so far, btw ;)

Install daemon tools, don't change the mdf file to an iso file, mount the CD image with daemon tools, select the virtual drive as your CD drive in Ootake and have fun.

That's the easiest way at least.

OK, I installed Daemon. And in my zip file, I have a plain mdf file, and the mds file ia now a Daemon file. I double-clicked the Daemon imge and it said couldn't mount, and now it does nothing but asks me if I want to burn it to a disk. Daemon itself doens't open at all when I double click it. Please help!!! Thanks so far.

Everything's allright so far, if you open Daemon Tools the DT icon appears in your taskbar. Right-click on it, select Virtual CD/DVD - ROM -> Device 0: [?:] Empty -> Mount Image and select the Akumajou Dracula X iso. And there you go.

No, wait, it's working! Thanks. But if I want to run other games, I just do the same thing and keep switching off?

What do you mean by "switching off"?

Just put the iso of the game you want to play in the virtual drive, like you did here.

Of course, you can put the iso wherever you want.

And I'm sorry, but I don't know where to get Star Parodier. I might see if I can find it tomorrow.

Magic Engine is fantastic, definitely recommend buying it or acquiring it by other means...

Yame is also a pretty nice emulator that I used to use a lot, but unfortunately I don't think it's supported anymore. Mednafen, as far as I understand, is the most technically accurate emulator out there, but it can be a real pain in the ass to set up.

There is a private DC++ hub with virtually every PCE and PC-FX game that I think is still around. Go here for the details. If you can't find a game you are looking for, I might have it in my collection and can rip it for you.

Keranu thanks for answering my prayer!!! I've actually been downloading games from doperoms. I've got Gradius 2, Lords and Gate Of Thunder, and Fighting Street. Some of the games on the site don't work. Like they need to be converted in sound files, but even doing that doesn't work. The ones I have came with a Dos Command Line MP3 to WAV converter. One game I can't seem to work is Star Parodier. That's all I need, and maybe Ys Books 1+2. Thanks for the offer.

I definitely have both of those games as they're a couple of my favorites. :) I think it might be easiest if I rip them in bin/cue format, if that is okay with you.

I'll try that and see how that works. With my original file, I couldn't play it because I couldn't mount the CUE because of the sound files. I'll give it a shot. Thanks for all this man ;)

Unfortunately I can't seem to be able to extract the last data track on my Star Parodia CD due to scuff marks or something. What does Daemon Tools say when you try to mount your CUE file? Make sure your WAV files are typed the same way the CUE lists them.

I don't have Cho Aniki (really want to get that one though!), but you can check my game list here if there's anything else you need. Sorry for the inconvience with Star Parodia, I'm able to extract all the other files fine except the last two.

Oh, it's no problem at all. Anyway, Daemon says "Unable to mount image. File not accessable."

Do you have any ide what to do?

The CUE file might not be listing both data tracks correctly. There appear to be two data tracks on the disc as far as I can tell: track numbers 2 and 24. Open your CUE file with Note Pad or a similar program and make sure you have all the files listed in it and that each file is typed exactly the same way it is in the CUE. All the files should be in the same folder.
