This is probably going to be a light spoiler thread.
So in Act 1, you're in BCPD and you can go to the Training Computer. In the PSX version, after you've met Ed, Dave, and Meryl, you go to the training computer and can practice a round. After you do, Dave shows up and practices a round.
As I understand it, other people like Meryl and Redwood can show up as well. Anyone know how to trigger that? I can only get Dave.
How do I trigger other people in the Training Computer?

You'll need to score a certain amount of points during act 1 for Tony to appear. I forgot how many though. I think it was about 400, but I'm not sure anymore.
For Meryl to appear, you'll need a certain amount of points too, during act 3. (But only if you haven't done the bet with her, you know, the one where you have to score 550 points, to touch her boobs.)

Awesome, thanks a lot!

That's exactly it. I got 431 and 418 points, but it triggered after (of course) I actually met Redwood.
Jesus, he's good.

Meh, if they gave me a machine pistol, I'd score much better too.slowbeef wrote: Jesus, he's good.

If it's any consolation, the comment on Redwood's "S, Sugoi.. .. .." is much easier to track down than Dave's "Impressive!" so I can find it in memory easier, thanks to the three repeated double-ellipses.Charlie Johnson wrote:Meh, if they gave me a machine pistol, I'd score much better too.
Inadvertently, Redwood just helped the translation project. (And so did you, Charlie Johnson.)

Cool.
But isn't Redwood one of the bad guys...why is he helping us, then?
I wouldn't trust him so easily and you better not mess with his lines! He's just gonna get mad and cause more bugs.

I dunno - Gates seems to vouch for him. I'm positive I can trust him.
Serious note: You wouldn't believe what a hack the game does for text in this scenes. It's fucking ridiculous and I never would have found it so quickly without the ellipses. You really did help out a lot.

For the record, you were pretty close on triggering Meryl, but it's actually Act 2 where you have to score 400 points (and never look at her boobs).
And holy shit. That's all I'm gonna say.
