Just finished my first run (yeah, yeah European release yadda yadda) anf finished as Crocodile...don't remember all my stats, but i had 214 enemy kills, 46 continues and 50+ meals. I will write them down next time. Does anyone know if a guard hears you when you sneak up on him, and smash him down before he calls his buddies, if that counts as an alert? Since without the spirit suit, it's impossible to sneak up on someone

How did you like the game MrRudi? I am curious....

I think it was well done, I like the added thrill of not having radar, it adds to the actual make-belief that you are infiltrating, and you need skill to do it. I liked the camera shifting option with R3 too, used it a lot to fix it on the path of an incoming soldier, to determine when the best time would be to move out.Snatcher wrote:How did you like the game MrRudi? At first I also liked the CURE addition, but it soon became boring and doesn't add too much. The stamina meter was a good thing though. Let's just say that in total, I loved it for the pure gameplay, and the story. First time I finished it, I started a new run immediatly, that doesn't happen with too many games.
Storywise I think The Boss - Snake relation is really well done, and I must say I loved the younger Ocelot. I can imagine why he would work with Big Boss later on in history, the last Russian roulette shows they have a lot of respect for eachother. Like how Ocelot did not interfere in the man-to-man fight with Volgin, and how Snake used the RPG-7 to save Ocelot from falling debris after the explosion. The fact that he is also the Boss' son makes him even more intriguing.
The only letdown I think was that Naked Snake was TOO much like Solid Snake. The Big Boss I knew from the first two games was far more a tough guy. I guess that is more an evolutionary thing, and the first steps toward his eventual defection are clearly explained in the ending, but I felt he should have been a bit more...cold. He is, after all, the ultimate soldier, the best that ever lived. Oh, and I would have expected him to take the TX-55 drawings from Granin directly

They will still hear your footsteps when you come close...stalking or not. Unless you use the spirit camo. In my first run it was impossible to sneak up on a guard without him hearing you in the last possible moment before I could grab him and slam him to the ground. I guess that does count as an alert then. Now, in my second run, I have no problem with it, since I am wearing the spirit camo.thagen wrote:As long as the alert timer don't come up, it doesn't count as an alert.
Sounds like you don't know about stalking.. use the d-pad and you'll move very slowly. You can sneak up on guards then.
Sorry, but you're wrong. They won't hear you when you're stalking. That's the point about stalking in the first place.. no sound. Maybe you walked into the guard before grabbing him?
Yes, they will hear you when you walk or run with the analog stick, but not when you stalk with the directional pad. Seriously.

Perhaps I just suck at it thenthagen wrote:Sorry, but you're wrong. They won't hear you when you're stalking. That's the point about stalking in the first place.. no sound. Maybe you walked into the guard before grabbing him?
