Snatcher Version Help?
Snatcher Version Help?
OK, I need some help from the Snatcher experts. Please help me out with these questions:
1. Was the CD-Romantic was the final/definitive version that Kojima worked on?
2. Is the closest version to the CD-Romantic version the Sega CD version? If so, how great where the changes?
3. In you expert opinion, what is the one definitive version you would recommend? Basically, if you could suggest the most definitive version of the game to a noob, which version would it be?
Thank you.

The PCE version is the definitive one, and the last one that Kojima worked on himself.
The SegaCD is "nice enough" for those that can't understand Japanese.

Re: Snatcher Version Help?
1. Yes.
2. It is the closest, yes. There are only small changes like Katrina being a bit younger and seeing her in the shower. The music is different in parts. There's also a scene taken out involving a porn video. The dog also flinches after being thrown through the window. Enjoy the PC Engine version. (There's loads of other differences as well, I compiled a list a while back).
3. SEGA CD, since it's the ONLY version in English. If they could understand Japanese (or played the SEGA CD version first), PC Engine all the way. It takes out the incredibly annoying shooting sequences for Act 3 and condenses Act 3 and the ending a bit (but also feels a bit more unresolved than the SEGA CD version).

My grasp of the Japanese written word extents to deciphering the word man, fire, forrest, tree and penis.

Re: Snatcher Version Help?
Maybe in reference to the removal of the incredible piece "Theme of Ending" form the MSX and PC88 versions, though I love "Tear Stained Eyes", I really regret having lost the other piece.. of course, having the third act makes the previous ending theme unsuitable.
Of course, the PC Engine version also has Tear stained eyes as ending theme.
