Konami 2011 E3 video has a Snatcher nod
Pretty neat if very subtle.

Re: Konami 2011 E3 video has a Snatcher nod
I've seen it as well, found it a bit weird that there was this one Snatcher thing on the wall with all these Metal Gear artworks.
But I think it's just Kojima playing with us, fans. That would surprise me if he's working on some Snatcher stuff...

Re: Konami 2011 E3 video has a Snatcher nod
I noticed that as well last night!
I also noticed that the "N" in "SNATCHER" seems to be whited out and that there's different text formatting on the top left of the log and bottom right under it...
I'd LOVE to see another Snatcher game...
Mostly a sequel so that the "open" ending from the first game is resolved, but a destroyed Russia isn't as cool as Neo Kobe.
I'd also like a remake from Kojima, but in a way I don't since I'm kinda pouring massive amounts of time and effort into that myself and it could end up being a huge waste if that happened.
I guess a prequel to Snatcher would really be the best bet here...
That way you still have the same cast and setting and maybe David Hayter could do the voice of old man Jean-Jack Gibson?

Re: Konami 2011 E3 video has a Snatcher nod
Actually if you look close enough that isn't an "N" at all...it looks more like a "D" or an "O" ???? ..that bust of Ocelot is perfectly placed in the way LOL!nickdaring wrote:Pretty neat if very subtle.
EDIT : Did some detective work LOL!

It clearly says "Snatcher" at the bottom right in small print (first image), but what is the rest of it? Either way it was done intentinally...
I have a feeling it may just be some weird un-used "SD Snatcher" logo that reads "SDATCHER"?

Re: Konami 2011 E3 video has a Snatcher nod
What was the point in spelling Snatcher wrong? and why is it on the wall at Koji Pro then if it's a messed up logo? are my biggest questions.
I didn't see anything Policenauts related...if only we could read the small text around the logo!
Maybe it's all just Kojima fucking with his "Snatcher" fans lol!

SD as in Super Deform? An old unused(?) logo for SD Snatcher?

Re: Konami 2011 E3 video has a Snatcher nod
Didn't notice THIS Snatcher reference, but there were lots of others...
First, when they enter the elevator, Kojima calls it "Gaudy", which was the original name for "Jordan", the computer system in Snatcher.
Then, right where the interviewers head is on the first picture posted, there was an image of a guy with a trenchcoat, looking exactly like the Junker outfit Jean or Gillian wear.
And - ok, this one's obvious - in that flashback sequence where those guys capture Kojima disguised as a janitor, they ask about ZoE 3 and "Snatcher for Kinect".
I was really exctited for the demo of "their" new engine, but the jungle setting definitely looked like anything but Snatcher. However, i guess it's still a rather good sign that Kojima obviously does still remember Snatcher and seing almost every other franchise (MG, ZoE) getting a workover does give some hopes for maybe Snatcher getting some kind of resurrection again.

I noticed that Trenchcoat concept art too.
It's a little different from the original style but who knows. THey do say that they are taking MGS Rising into a more sci-fi direction. Maybe it will crossover with some SNatcher elements and ideas.

Well at least a crossover to the Snatcher universe would make MGS:Rising somewhat more interesting. I must admit, it's about the first game in the MG(S) saga i'm not really hyped about.
Re: Konami 2011 E3 video has a Snatcher nod
I think that's just a picture of the Big Boss from MGS1? The image looks like something I've seen before but not from Snatcher lol!nickdaring wrote:I noticed that Trenchcoat concept art too.

Well if you remember MGS4 Proffessor Modnar (Elijah or Petrovich?) is mentioned as the one who can heal Raiden after he gets seriously injured.
I guess Raiden visits him at some point, but of course it's never shown, so I could see that being in Rising.
My memory is a bit fuzzy as to what is said or which modnar but I think it's in a cutscene around Act 3?

Re: Konami 2011 E3 video has a Snatcher nod
Yeah, Raiden definitely visits Modnar because of his cyborg-ish... thing... (?) I think you couldbe right with the end of Act 3, right before Snake waers the "Gillian outfit"... Oh, those Snatcher references, they are starting to drive me madel_ash wrote:I think that's just a picture of the Big Boss from MGS1? Wait... what if it's a 0, as in zero and it's supposed to be a prequel?Kyrill wrote:Damn Ocelot !

You know I was like "O" what the hell for? and because of "SD Snatcher" I was like "D" makes sense...zombie-flesheater wrote:Wait... what if it's a 0, as in zero and it's supposed to be a prequel?Kyrill wrote:Damn Ocelot !

But you just totally pointed out something I didn't think of!
It could be a "0" as in a ZERO for a prequel...that would be cool!

It kinda messes up the logo though lol!

Re: Konami 2011 E3 video has a Snatcher nod
Usually I would say you guys are reading way too much into this, but this is Kojima. It would fit his profile to put up all these hints to give Snatcher fans something to get hyped about. I really hope this turns out to be a new Snatcher game or something similar, but honestly I don't think it will be anything like the old Snatcher point and click gameplay.

Perhaps more like an LA Noire style adventure game.
Kojima also recently made another couple SNATCHER mentions in his twitter feed. Dude's got Snatcher on the brain.

Re: Konami 2011 E3 video has a Snatcher nod
It has been announced in HideChan Radio, it's project S !
Sdatcher is a radio drama based on Snatcher, written by Suda51, directed by Kojima, music by Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill) and character design by Satoshi Yoshioka.
Seems like the first episode will be aired on HideRadio #300 (The current one is the #296)
Here's the belgian source : metalgearsolid.be.
If someone who understands Japanese could tell us if they said something more in HideChan Radio ?
I understood that Project S would be a series of multiple projects, so should we be waiting for something else ?
