It seems like the PC-Engine version of Snatcher is going to be bundled alongside other Japanese titles like Castlevania: Rondo of Blood for western release. Sadly, it's Amazon Japan exclusive, and it's pants-on-head idiotic.

Still, it's pretty cool that the "superior" version is getting a re-release for the first time since its initial release.

Yes indeed, the system is a great deal for the licenses alone.

I hope they make a great job out of it... MDFourier will be waiting to compare the audio ^^

So it seems like there's going to be some visual changes for the PCE mini. Looks like censorship is imminent. :(

I... don't know how I feel about this. On one hand, they could potentially go overboard with changes and bastardize the original. On the other, that technically makes this the first new version of SNATCHER in over twenty years, which is something I never thought would happen ("new" being just a technicality, sure, but still).

Also, there's an Amazon US listing: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QD9GQ9J/re ... qDbRN17WTC

I am also uncertain. I don't buy or like the mini emulation trend. But it technically is a new release... even if digital only. And I'd love to dump it and compare it...

I'm with you. We've had good emulation for 8 and 16 bit consoles for years - my Wii is soft-modded and any of these games would be accessible if I was interested. I suppose hooking it up via HMDI is appealing - and some people don't have the time, knowledge or skill to come up with their own emulation solution?

I meant that quality is yet not where I'd like it to be, but I'm working on helping a bit on that front:

I will be releasing the PC Engine version soon.
