I'm not having Uwe Boll direct the MGS movie, even if it means buying a gun.

funny, i heard that the MG film was shooting at the minute, after that interview where Christian Bale basically said he would be playing Snake, and in a Batman Begins thing for MTV he said the film he was just begining to shoot, or ready to shoot, he had to wear alot or army style straps and gear........Solid Snake i say?

He's said he's not interested in making Movies, anymore. He solely enjoys watching them. He'd allow someone else to make a MGS movie, though.

No...that was Ryuhei Kitamura. The Wachowski Brothers (and that's who I assume you're talking about) were not involved with TTS in any way, although Kojima did mention in an interview with EGM a while ago that if anyone were to direct a Metal Gear movie, he would want it to be them.

He also said in the same interview that if he were to direct a movie, it would be something small and independent--not MG related. I could try and scan the whole thing if you guys wanted.

I don't see why the Wachowskis would be so good for a MG movie. So they "directed" the Matrix films (and there's even a lawsuit about the original ideas behind it right now). Big deal. I think someone like Ridley Scott would be better. I don't think techno music and a MG film would go well together either...

I wouldn't mind the Wachowskis doing a Metal Gear movie. However, I thought that Kitamura had been listed as a probable director.

Also, who else thinks that they ought to make the movies based on the first two Metal Gear games, and not the Solid tirlogy? Most American gamers aren't entirely familiar with the stories of those two games, and it would be a nice way to fill in those gaps. Unless Kojima ever considers remaking them for modern technology, film adaptations like these would be a nice way to provide continuity for the series.

Until Substinence, that is. Or whatever.

There's still the possibility that the movie is not going to be a remake of one of the games, it can be a new story, what is quite probable.

Look at RE movies, I LOVED those movies, but They are not much loyal to the game itself, they're better to watch if you haven't played the series, which makes Tomb Raider a little better, I think RE movies are way much cooler than the TR ones, but the remake thing didn't work preety well.

I think that there are big chances this is not gonna be a remake.

Bah! I disliked the RE movies, or at least the original.

Even when taken into consideration that it was just some random screenplay with the Resident Evil name and references to Umbrella attached, it was still a really shitty movie.

Absolutely. Especially when the RE film was originally going to be written and directed by George Romero. What's the logic of replacing the father of the zombie movie genre as the director of the ultimate zombie genre movie with Paul W.S. Anderson? Huh?

Seriously, though. If they're thinking about screwing with MG canon and just making their own dumbass action movie, they should just adapt Snake's Revenge and stay away from Kojima's work.

I like the atmosphere that is created by the movie, as I stated before, if you played the games, it's shitty but if you watch it as a movie like any other, I think it's really cool.

Yeah. According to Romero himself, it was Bernd Eichinger, one of the film's executive producers, who rejected Romero's treatment of the film.

To be honest, even though it was better than Anderson's version, it wasn't very good either. They kinda messed up with Chris' character by turning him into some kind of Jill-stalker.

His script was similar to the events of the first RE game. It had them entering the mansion from the forest, going through the rooms, eventually to the lab, etc. You can read it online.

I already read it years ago and like I said, it could've been alot better. They messed up with a few characters. Not just Chris, but also Ada too (she was a spy in the games, not a scientist). I do admit that seeing Tyrant decapitate Wesker would've been cool though.

It still would've made a better film than either of Paul Anderson's Milla Jovovich wankfests ("look at my super-hot model girlfriend do everything and make the actual game characters look like total noobs").

I think it would be a great movie if it was done correctly. The game hardly needs any tweaking because it has the style of a movie already. In my opinion though I would prefer it as an anime with the original voice actors, just because I know, no matter who the actors are I probably would object to a handful of them.
