Relationship between Gray Fox and Naomi

Post by messia04 »

I did put this in another forum but it would be interesting what you guys think about it...

----------------------------------------------------------

I don't know if you read the MGS Comics from IDW Publishing but in one scene you can see Mantis talking with Fox and talks him in that he's the brother of Naomi. But he demands that it isn't truth...
And before that scene Gray said that he is Frank Jagger and Mantis talked him in that it isn't truth...

And since the comics got confirmed from Hideo himself, couldn't it be that Gray Fox isn't really the brother of Naomi and the only reason he thinks so is because Mantis him in to???

That would change a lot, don't you think?

Jaeger means "hunter" in German.

Dunno what to say about the storyline.

If I recall correctly Frank Jaeger wasn't really Naomi's brother either. He kind of adopted her as a little sister after he killed both her parents. So they are not really relatives.

I know that they are not blood relatives, but the point is that Mantis is putting untrue thing in the mind of Jaeger. And therefore it would be possible that we can't really believe in the things we heard from Jaeger at the end of MGS1. I mean, it could be true but in another way Mantis had a huge influence to him. I know that it sounds far-fetched, but we should consider it.

But it would be conjecture. It is non cannon, even if authorized and supervised. A wok like that always needs to add or change stuff. And we know that revisiting something always creates this kind of things.

First of all, I think you're complete misinterpreted the scene in the comics. It was more like Mantis toying around with Fox (due to the fact that Fox killed Naomi's parents), rather than some switch-up.

Secondly, having the Ninja be someone who isn't Gray Fox is completely stupid, especially considering that Naomi recognizes who the Ninja when Snake confronts him.

And finally, this whole discussion is moot, considering that the comics ARE NOT canonical. The only events that matters are the ones depicted or alluded during the main games and any new materials introduced in adaptations are completely non-canonical, regardless of how official the product is.
