According to The Unofficial Metal Gear Solid site, Kojima Productions recently announced that the japanese servers are going offline by the end of 2006. This has gotten american fans worried that the same thing might happen to america and europe, so sign this pention!

Well Konami's DDR Extreme 2 servers went down just a few months ago, most likely to make way for DDR SuperNOVA's online servers, though when those go down the 'online only' songs will probably go with it, so hopefully they will rectify that so people can play them offline. So that probably means the other MGO servers are doomed to the same fate.

I'm sure someone will find a way to make third-party servers, just like with Phantasy Star Online.

Sems Konami isin´t fit for running some online servers. (well except for Pro Evolution Soccer)

I doubt it. DNAS and advanced authentication methods would make it much more difficult to reverse engineer a server.

Hell, Phantasy Star Online was a completely isolated case.
