I voted for Old L.A. 2040 (PC9821 version).
Spoiler:
The new opening theme, End of the Dark, was better suited for the ending scenes, where it originated from

Depends... Different grooves. Its like Snatcher's incarnations, the latter seems to catch more new players lol~
I voted for Old L.A... End of Dark fits the other changes to the game, but there's nothing like the original...

I prefer end of the dark, I really like the groove, especially the way the "Do's" are implemented in the beginning of the song, got me all tingly the first time I heard it.

I like both songs, but I prefer the way the PC98 has both of them in the game (with Dark again in the same place at the end of the game, when Jonathan's personal darkness has ended, hence the origin of the title). I also think Old LA 2040 just sounds more appropriate, especially the way the game opens on earth without any flashback shots of the colony.

I definetly prefer the end of dark over the older one, although both themes are pretty cool. I'm a newer player, and most of the people I've shown the newer intro to have been pretty impressed.
