Actually, now that I got it, it doesn't feature any subtitle at all. Both BD are fully voiced in Japanese but you can still follow the story since all the ballons were left in the original English.
And now my two cents about it - Oprisko was able to keep MGS storyline pretty much intact with just some bits added here and there. The dream sequence fighting Psycho Mantis was a cool part.
Alex Garner on the other hand, pretty much screwed up. Gone are many of the most interesting subtexts of the original. Stillman isn't peglegged anymore for no apparent reason. Gone is Emma's personality and her real motivations to be on the Arsenal project. During the end, Solidus is portrayed as an insane madman ("if I can't get the <B>Patriots</B>' names, at least I will slaughter you two (Snake and Raiden)" he yells at some point.) By far the worst offender is that the whole point of jack's story is no more, since a great deal of the S3 is actually played by Snake. Snake fights Vamp and escorts Emma on the oil fence. And Snake, for some reason, doesn't follow Liquid at the end but manages to appear on top of the Hall just kick Solidus' butt in Jack's stance, again for no good reason whatsoever.
Now, seeing the whole BD is already a quite tiresome burden, and it's no good when you realize than none of these changes is for the better, and none of them really "speeds up" the flow of narrative. I like Ashley Wood's illustrations but the second BD is severely butchered in terms of story.
EDIT.
oh by the way, NCSX mentions some MGS4 special features in the package:

But I wasn't able to locate them. Is there some hidden menu / easter egg?

Anyway, someone else has watched these together (or has read the respective comic books) and care to share an impression?
