Im completly overwhelmed by this game i loved it. (Sega CD ver.)
a Kojima game From Start to finish.
Even in this year 2008 with all those modern games Out with those incredible graphics and gameplay, Snatcher made a hole in my mind and buried himself there for the rest of my life one of my all time favorites beside MG and a game to remember for an eternity.
Simply a True MASTERPIECE.
thanks to this forum for the info
Special Thanks to seraphssavior who helped me find the game.
See ya all Diehard Kojima fans.
Favorite Game: Shenmue I, MGS, Snatcher, Zelda: Ocarina Of Time.

When I finished the game the character who really stood out to me was Gillian. He wasn't like Snake or Raiden, I was good to see Kojima has/had a few other ideas for what a protagonist could be like (rather than just tough or....the opposite, don't get me wrong I <3 both Snake and Raiden).
I really hope we get a next-gen adventure game out of Project 'S'.

You're the same poster as the one with the same name on Metal Gear Solid: The unofficial Site, right?
Well as for Snatcher, I hope you people don't get the idea that I am old fashioned and such but on the moment I am really bummed with most of the releases, look I love FPS games, RTS, RPG and such (never liked sport games, outside car games you should play a sport, not emulate it) but dammit, all the releases on the moment are almost the same or have become so cross genre (RPGs are now action-adventures with stat building elements, not pure RPGS anymore) that I am honest to God sick of them.
I am not going to say that games were always better in the past, it had plenty of crappy games that were presented as the next evolution in gaming, but there were also lot of them were playable and fun without relying to much on loads of special effects or convoluted story telling.
Speaking of stories, have some of you also noticed the trend that most stories are pretty much similar?
Yeah yeah, we had loads of 'evil returns to threaten the present' or 'aliens invade Earth' but because a lot of the game was focused on gameplay in general you didn't notice it much plus the writers managed to give it a twist here and there to make the experience still feel somewhat original.
Now games are ripping of Hollywood, and reverse, here and there.
I tell you, if I see one more game that pretty much rips off Aliens (I am looking at you Dead Space), I will scream and then become very violent.
And if its not games in which you have to take on overwhelming dictator's or alien forces its games in which you have to become the most badass gangster in the 'hood'.
I started to play Snatcher about last week/the week before and I can tell you, despite it being older it was a refreshing wind after several games that were pretty much the same.
An interesting plot, gameplay that is different, a lovable and respectable hero who isn't the general cliché (so he is an amnesiac, I forgive it as it was barely done at the time this was released and it is at least used in a good way), a sidekick who is actually funny, and a mystery you want to solve.
So yeah, I liked Snatcher, that is why I want to own the game myself (hot in pursuit of a Snatcher Mega CD, thats Sega CD here in Europe) and I am all in favor of a translation of Policenauts so I can play that too.
If new games become more and more crap I hope I find more treasures like these waiting for me to discover them.
A list of the games I lately got I really liked
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Contra 4
Half Life 2 Episode 2 + Portal
I still need to try out Mask of the Betrayer, Bioshock, STALKER, and Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops.

Hahahahahah, I was. Not for the next 40 Days though. How do people know me?
The Prince II, is PO a bit decent?
It's decent-er than Snake Eater from my point of view. I'd give it an 8 out of ten. But in my opinion the only truly classic Metal Gears are the first 4. MG/2/S/S2.

Portable OPS made me cry thats all i can say (you have to play it)
About your comentary well... we just have to wait till kojima makes another refreshing game.
He is the only one that can make a Masterpiece.
Long live Kojima san

Ehrr, in a good way or in a bad way?
I fear that it will be the last one. (dammit another game shot down I thought was good)

Yes, with all this crap in the gaming business going on he might be one of the few 'lights' left as long as he doesn't overdo it with the dialog and the philosophy.
for me portable ops was horrendous. I just disliked about every aspect of it. But I have to agree with Prince here the true metal gear saga begins with MG and ends with MGS2.

Well I wasn't saying that MGS3 and MGSPO are the true to start of the saga, to me Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake is the best of the MG saga, but I was curious if it was really that disappointing.
On a side note: I kind of like RAXA for all its flaws.
for me it was pretty disappointing, however I did think the drawn cutscenes where fairly cool. But when it comes down to it the only way you'll know whether or not it was a disappointment is if you yourself play it.

Meh, I'll pick one up when they are on discount, I understand that the PSP is not doing so well compared to the DS.
At the same time I can then also check out God of War: Chains of Olympus.

Snatcher is definetly another Masterpiece i didnt know that kojima Was a fan of Blade runner
one of my favorite movies i just cant not keep watching that movie i ve seen it around 50 times i think.Policenauts has a 99.9 percent of being another masterpiece but i need that patch. common junker HQ you can do it !!!
Kojima games owned: Metal Gear Solid series (all of them) -MGS1 -MGS2 -MGS3 -MGS4 -MGS: Portable Ops -MGS: Portable Ops + -MGS: Digital Graphic Novel Snatcher (Policenauts someday, thanks to you dedicated folks.)
I was always interested, but what REALLY got me was Metal Gear Solid 4, act 3.
I wanted to find SOMETHING, anything like that, and then I found myself Snatcher, and I couldn't put it down. Now I think everyone should play it, start to finish. Except for little kids, as the "gore" is kinda unnerving, although it CAN'T be removed or censored because it's very important to the atmosphere.
Although that part with the dog wasn't terribly necessary in my opinion. Didn't need the body to confirm that things went south.
EDIT: Haven't seen Blade Runner. Bought a copy of the Final Cut DVD today. The two reasons being Snatcher and the fact that my Dad (who has GREAT taste in movies) replied with "WHA--AT?! You HAVEN'T seen BLADE RUNNER?!?" when I asked him what it was like.

Yeah, that's pretty much why I went out and bought blade runner too.

Yeah, watched it this morning, good movie, I can see why Kojima made Snatcher. The Blade Runner world is so much more massive than the movie, and although I loved the movie, especially the ending, it still left me wanting more. It's just got that flare you know.

I heard the same thing, but I don't know how many games there are, or.. any details to be honest.
