Snatch system art versus actual storyline

Post by RyuHayabusa »

Now, keep in mind that I love Snatcher. It's easily one of my favorite games of all time. However, looking at the Snatch System artwork, I couldn't help but notice that it doesn't go along with what actually happens in the game. Take a look:

Now, according to this, the Snatchers just steal people's skin and dress up in it themselves to take their place in society. According to the game, the skin is grown onto the Snatcher skeleton in the laboratory from scratch. Something isn't quite right here. Perhaps it's just an attempt at comedy or something, but it stuck out to me. I'm sure I'm not the first to notice this, but I didn't see a thread about it. Just thought I'd point it out.

I scanned that image from the PCE magazine, and I believe it is only in one other place and presented in B&W.

I've always thought it is comedy, specifically since it is in SD style and has a tongue in cheek flavor.

Hence I don't think it is meant as serious within the game context.

yeah this always had me thinking, since i knew SD was more of a comedy i just figured it was for "joke" purposes.
