The Metal Gear Gamebook

Post by Johnny Undaunted »

Possibly the rarest piece of Metal Gear-related merchandise ever.

I have seen all kinds of things, from strategy guides for the Famicom version of MG1, the actual Famicom game with collector's card, the Snake's Revenge LCD game, the World of Power "novelization" of the first game and even a CD soundtrack for Metal Gear 2. Yet, I have never seen a copy of the Japanese Metal Gear game book. Not even in Yahoo Auctions Japan. All I know from the information that has been supplied in Book Kinokuniya is that it exists and that the Metal Gear gamebook is not the only one (I've seen the Contra gamebook). I challenge Snatcher and Jonathan if they can manage to procure a copy with all the connections they have. Obviously, somebody must have a copy somewhere.

Darn...
I love gamebooks. I have my collection of Choose your own adventure, Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, Dungeons & Dragons, Fighting Fantasy and some from different smaller series (even some more graphical).

Although I doubt I'll ever get this one (too rare a piece), I believe James must get one first in any avent (He is the biggest Metal Gear collector after all). Although my experience in the field has shown me that eventually, one will be available... ^^
