I'm trying to decide between Irreversible and Pink Flamingos as my next movie. I'll keep a bucket handy no matter which one I choose.
Edit: There's NO way I'm EVER watching EITHER of those movies!!

Hahaha, yeah, you're best off not doing. Pink Flamingos I had to turn off after the first forty or so minutes, it was very off putting, to say the least. I've seen Irreversible and hated it. There's a very bad rape scene in it that pretty much stuck in my head for a while and made me feel very sickly. You are better off not watching them anyway, since you aren't missing out on much, to be honest.
Just seen Die Hard for the second time, pure entertainment bliss. Wish they still made them like this. Pure 80s gold.

What about The Boondock Saints? I think this is one of the greatest movies I have ever seen, and I know there are opposing viewpoints on it, but I think it beats the hell out of anything Tarantino's made before...has anyone else ever seen this movie?

Same to me. I thought it was like a movie directed by a teenager who wants to make everybody "horrified". Very childish. The beginning of the film (with its weird camera angles) and the fire extinguisher scene made me feel sick. That's all. The rape scene looked fake to me (plus Monica Bellucci is a terrible actress). I stopped caring about the movie after that.Henry Spencer wrote:I've seen Irreversible and hated it. I also watched Carne from Gaspard Noé. Same "I want to shock everyone" feeling, but it was way better (at least, the comedians acted well in it).
Same to me. I only liked De Niro's character and the end of the filmOsiris wrote:Did anyone else not like Brazil? I saw it a couple of years ago. I just didn't like the feel at all. And Robert De Niro's character was only in it for what, 10 minutes? Best character in the film too.

Watched the first Die Hard again. Still a classic, still loved it, still entertaining. Timeless 80s brilliance with Bruce, who has never done better in his entire career. I sure hope Die Hard 4.0 is at least almost as good as the first one, which everyone keeps saying it is, but somehow, I doubt it (with the lame rating and all).

I watched Ratatouille, Blood Diamond on HD-DVD, Live Free or Diehard and Ocean 13. The last one was boring when compared to the other three.
I must say that Ratatouille is impressive visually, specially when watching it knowing none of it is motion capture. besides, those exterior scenes look incredibly photo realistic.
Blood Diamond I did like, hence I bought the HD version. It is a mixed bag of action flick with a morale story mixed in, but great acting there. Beautiful scenes as well and incredible audio mix. Besides, it is the first HD disc in any of the two formats to support some online content.
Die Hard, man what a trip. I couldn't stop laughing at how over the top the stuff was, very entertaining. I usually hate it when they start throwing computer related terms out of context and do stuff that only happens in movies technology wise, but I was laughing hard here at it. I guess th Imax theater helped with the viisual and audio punch.

I bought alien quadrilody DVD box little while ago, it contains director's cut versions of all 4 alien movies. Aliens is about 15min longer and alien3 is almost half hour longer.Henry Spencer wrote: I watched Aliens again today, one of Cameron's best. I'm really on a 80s trip, lately. I too like Alien movies, the second one is my favorite.

A mighty shame the franchise is long gone now (don't even mention vs Predator, please). I liked the first one the best, with its subtle use of horror and building of atmosphere. Very few directors can capture such a dark atmosphere like Ridley (thankfully, James Cameron can as well, hence the amazing sequel which I like almost as much as the first).

Just watched Memento (2000). It blew me the hell away! I had no idea what was going on until the end but it's just so well written, directed and acted that I couldn't stop watching! Brilliant thriller/mystery film with a great twist at the end! WATCH IT! Next up, Scarface (1983).

Last film I watched (before yesterday) was Escape From New York. Terrible acting, but there's something about the mood and narrative pace that I liked a lot. And it mixed a lot of action movies clichés in a good way, so it kind of compiles every action movie you need to see.
Also, I loved that blonde girl that is "kidnapped" by those crazy guys and we never see her again :D
Next film I'm going to watch... dunno, really. A friend borrowed me his PS2 so I'm playing SotC atm, but I'll watch Wild at Heart or Stolen Life later.
Oh, yeah. This means I'll finally be able to play MGS3 :)

Anyway, I'm liking the game so far, altough I can say I saw movies that were more interactive, if you know what I mean :D

The Simpsons movie was actually quite good, surprisingly. Due to the drop in quality of recent seasons, I thought it was going to be bad, but actually turned out quite well. Hot Fuzz is another great movie, especially if you like Shaun of the Dead, or any of those other action movies, Point Break, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, ect.

Watched Bourne Identity and Supremacy to catch up on the events before seeing Ultimatum (which supposedly continues from where the second one ended). Been ages since I'd seen them, so I couldn't remember how awesome both films are. Gotta love the fight scenes, conspiracy (love that word), mystery, car chases and atmosphere engrossing the storyline and great characters.
Such great films, I look forward to seeing Ultimatum.

I watched Andre de Toth's Play Dirty (fucking masterpiece) and Von Ryan's Express last night, and watched Phantom of the Paradise this morning. I'm in the midst of watching John Frankenheimer's Seconds, which like many a Frankenheimer film, is oppressive, gloomy, mysterious, and leaves the viewer with a feeling of hopelessness. It's absolutely spectacular.
